Certificate in Social Work Practice for Auxiliary Social Workers

The Certificate in Social Work Practice for Auxiliary Social Workers is a part time course run by the University of Mauritius and is fully sponsored by the National Social Inclusion Foundation (NSIF). Around 30 participants from NGOs in diverse fields of activity started the Programme on Friday 24 February 2023.

This Programme, which is of a duration of 18 months, has been devised in the context of an MoU between the two institutions and aims at the professionalisation of social work practice. At the end of the course participants will be able to apply basic social work knowledge, skills and techniques and embrace the values and ethical standards of social work.

Launching of Impact Report 2022

In the context of its 5 year anniversary, the National Social Inclusion Foundation (NSIF) launched its Impact Report 2022 on Wednesday 8 February 2023 at the Sir Harilall Vaghjee Hall, Port Louis.

The launch was made by the Minister of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity, Mrs Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, GCSK and the Chairperson of the NSIF, Mr Medavy Pillay Munien.

The event was attended by more the 250 guests, comprising representatives of the public and private sectors, NGOs and civil society in the presence of the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, GCSK; the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo; the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, Mrs Kalpana Devi Koonjoo-Shah and other personalities.

The Impact Report gives an overview of the work of the Foundation and its institutional and funding achievements over the period 2017-2022.
